The first part will be a quick overview of the honeybee. It will review the honeybee’s social structure, its annual cycle, its foraging habits, and its nest requirements.

The second part will review the basic requirements of a beehive and how to expand and reduce the hive through the annual cycle. It will also discuss how to manage the annual expansion and shrinking of a colony.

The third part will describe the process of acquiring and installing the bees in a hive, and some basic colony management, focusing on the first few months after installing the bees.
